ASSOCIATED STAMPS are those which are issued by Bona-fide Postal Authorities around the world, but whose CRICKET theme is not readily apparent - serious enthusiasts have researched the subject and found interesting "Associations" with the game, which are usually explained in the text.

{NOTE: Because so many issued stamps can be "Associated" with CRICKET, indirectly, or in some cases, obtusely, these items listed below give details ONLY as a reference, of issues previously discovered or researched by "ENTHUSIASTS". It is up to each individual collector to decide how far to go in the definition of "Associated" stamps - otherwise you may run the risk of lining the pockets of unscrupulous  dealers or agents who may find a way of "unloading" material onto a market which collects "everything". It is your choice!}

ASS/63A
2001

GREAT BRITAIN
This was the first-ever COMMERCIAL customised stamp arranged through Royal Mail and the MCC - with "The ASHES" tab   on 3 of a set of 5 "Occasions" stamps - all fully valid for postal use. There were two photographs of the Urn - and in some confusion the wrong photograph was used for the first printing. The first day of use for this issue was the Saturday of the 1st ASHES TEST match at Edgbaston.

ass63a63d.jpg (10059 bytes)

For the second printing, to replenish stocks, the correct photograph of the urn was used, thus creating TWO varieties.
